During annual appraisals we set objectives and identify development needs and then provide generous study support and structured training for ACCA, AAT and CIPP payroll qualifications.
Our study leave package is proven to give our trainees the best chance of success. Meanwhile, ongoing in-house training enables staff to update their knowledge in accountancy, audit and taxation. Each student is mentored by a member of our senior management team and can turn to qualified, experienced colleagues for advice and moral support when the going gets tough. Howards pays all examination and training fees along with professional membership subscriptions.
As well as investing to train the next generation of accountants we implement initiatives to support accounting industry developments and changes in legislation, such as Making Tax Digital, data protection and anti-money laundering.
Howards invests around £60,000 annually in professional training and tailored courses that meet CPD requirements but, more importantly, ensure integrity and the highest standards of professional conduct at all times. Everyone benefits from a company culture that ensures any grey areas or suspicious activity is automatically reported to senior management for investigation and possible action.

Events range from bowling evenings, a day at the races and cake bakes to coffee mornings in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. We’re always open to ideas – a Christmas Jumper Day raised much-needed funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
