They smashed it! Congratulations to Howards managing director Matt Bailey, who completed the Asda Foundation Derby Half Marathon in 2:23:45, and his cousin, Victoria Burchell, who posted a time of 2:43:03.
It was a tremendous team effort and together they’ve raised more than £6,500 for research into brain cancer.
Matt and Victoria were running in memory of Simeon Bennett – Matt’s cousin and Victoria’s brother – who sadly died from a glioblastoma brain tumour three years ago.
More children and adults aged 40 and under die from brain tumours than any other type of cancer. Through the SGB Charity Fund, a charitable foundation set up in Simeon’s name, Matt and Victoria’s Derby Half Marathon exploits have so far netted £6,595 for charity.
Huge thanks to everyone who sponsored them. The money will go to The Brain Tumour Charity, the UK’s leading brain cancer charity for research intohigh risk brain tumours to help provide a better outlook for people diagnosed with brain cancer and their families.
